But as she grew, her preschool teachers found the name unfamiliar, and I eventually renamed her Navya. Yet Smilona never left me. It lingered in my heart like a melody waiting for its chorus. For 28 years, I held onto that name, searching for the right moment to give it life again. Today, Smilona finds its home in a project as beautiful and radiant as the little girl who first inspired it. Smilona is now The Destination Jewellery where heritage meets celestial elegance.
A Journey from Healing to Adornment:
In the year 2000, I immersed myself in the world of gemstones drawn by their quiet brilliance and the stories they hold within. I pursued a gem and jewellery course to understand their nuances, their intricacies, and the timeless artistry they represent. But life had other plans.
As I built and nurtured my IVF hospital, dedicating myself to the delicate science of creating life, my passion for jewellery remained tucked away like a gem waiting to be unearthed. Years passed. The medical world knew my name, but my heart still whispered of designs, of sparkle, of beauty meant to be shared.
Today, that whisper has become a voice.
I return to my first love, not as an escape, but as an evolution. Smilona is my offering to young women who seek jewellery that is both artistic and accessible, pieces that can be worn not just on occasions, but in the rhythm of everyday life.
